As part of Marlborough Literature Festival, Sycamore Clas went to meet children’s author Catherine Bruton. We heard about how she collects ideas and the work that goes into her books. She also had some top tips for writing a book and told us about how she thinks she has been a writer since she was in year 5. Quite a few of the children were already familiar with her books, particulaly ‘No Ballet Shoes for Syria.’
Many of the children bought a copy of her latest book, Bird Boy and had it signed. We’re hoping some of the tips she gave us will be useful for our story writing back in class.
